Discover UAE

A short distance outside of Dubai you can experience the diverse composition of the landscape and the rich Arabic culture, still mainly untouched by western influence.

Hatta, a town 100km south east from Dubai is bordering Oman and set at the foot of the Hajar Mountains, Hatta is steeped in culture and tradition. Visit the Hatta Pools - deep canyons cut out of rock by rushing flood water. These pools are dry for most of the year.
Enjoy the colourful road side stalls selling ceramic planters and garden features of all shapes and sizes. These make ideal gifts and are reasonably priced.
My Move recommends a stay at Hatta Fort Hotel.

Al Maha Desert Resort is a conservation reserve approx 40 minutes from Dubai. It is a luxurious resort designed to resemble a typical Bedouin camp.

Bab Al Shams is a beautiful desert resort built to the design of an Arabic Fort. Al Hadheerah is an authentic open air Arabic restaurant and is highly recommended.

Visit the other Emirates:

Abu Dhabi (approx 1 hour by road from Dubai) -  This is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, it moves at a slower pace than Dubai although is catching up quickly…...Abu Dhabi boasts amazing architecture and  has many shopping malls and luxurious Hotels.

Al Ain - Borders Oman, has a variety of sights and attractions, Hili Archaeological Gardens, Al Ain Museum, a Camel Mart and Al Ain Zoo.

Ajman - UAE’s smallest Emirate, Ajman boasts great beaches, set at the foot of the Hajar Mountains. It has several Dhow building centres ( Arabic boats) where the traditional art is still passed down from generation to generation.

Ras Al Khaimah –This is the most northerly of  the Emirates and probably the most scenic. In direct contrast to Dubai, it is quiet and relaxing. It has caught the construction bug from Dubai and many reasonably priced luxurious developments are now well under way.

East Coast - Experience the golden sandy beaches set between the Arabian Gulf and the Hajar Mountains, enjoy a somewhat cooler climate than in Dubai. Enjoy the ancient forts and wind towers and the intriguing scenery that Dibba, Fujairah and Khor Fakkan has to offer.

Take a spectacular drive through the mountains via Wadi Bih to Dibba on the East Coast and to the Musandam Peninsula just over the border in Oman.
