Dune Bashing

For the enthusiasts this is an exhilarating and addictive pastime, and a popular weekend activity in Dubai. Undertaking dune bashing as part of an organized group is the safest way possible, training is provided, safety equipment is fitted and a skilled Dune Basher will shadow the inexperienced.
Quad biking is a similar pastime but quad bikes do not have safety cages or roll bars and serious injury can occur.

Sand Boarding

Sand boarding is great fun and very popular with kids. It is similar in technique to snowboarding. It can be incorporated into a desert tour, with some basic tuition thrown in or organized with a group of friends. It is a safe means of enjoying the golden sands.

Camel Rides

These are generally available on the public beaches, at festival times in public parks or on organized desert trips. Camels are quiet large and generally intolerant so beware in your approach as they can bite.

Camel racing

Camel racing is a traditional Arabian sport. Races take place during the winter months at Nad Al Sheba and offer lots of excitement and colour. Traditionally ridden by children, now ridden by robotic jockeys… the operators follow the race in 4x4 directing their charge by remote control.

Colourful Camel markets exist near the race tracks and offer all commodities associated with camels, camel stools are unique and provide handy ornate seats,  large cotton colorful camel blankets make for attractive throws and bedspreads and very inexpensive..
