Desert Activities

  • My Move strongly recommends travelling with an organized tour on your first visit to the desert or with people who have valid desert knowledge. There are many pitfalls, tyre pressure adjustment knowledge is essential, only 4x4’s recommended for sand travel.
  • Bring along spades and strong ropes just in case! fully charged mobile phones and a good torch - deserts are very isolated places.
  • Drink and carry with you plenty water. ( at least 2litres/day is recommended)
  • Temperatures drop at night in the desert so bring lots of warm clothes and blankets.
  • Wear a hat and apply a high factor sun cream (50+) as there are no shaded areas and sun reflects from the sand.
  • Bring a good quality insect repellent, camp fires and food attracts mosquitoes and all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures.
  • Always bring your rubbish home or dispose of it appropriately.
  • Always follow safety instructions for sand duning /bashing and always wear a safety helmet.
