- Inventory all your items as you box them, you will need this list for clearing your boxes at customs in Dubai. Update your home country insurance if you are storing items, letting your house or only going to be away on a short-term contract.
- Make sure not to pack any banned or prohibited items for import to Dubai.
- Move your goods with a reputable international moving company and remember to insure these.
- Plan for the shipping delay on the Dubai side by making use of a serviced hotel apartment.
- Ensure you have all your important certificates copied and attested before leaving home. If these are not in English make sure they are translated and attested before leaving.
- Enlist the services of a Relocation Company for your arrival in Dubai. Their help will be invaluable to ensure upon your arrival in the UAE, you “hit the ground running”.
- Read up about the Islamic faith and cultural do's and don'ts before arriving. You will settle in much faster and more easily if you understand the Arab Culture a little better before you arrive.
