- Shortlist preferred schools - you can pre-register prior to arrival
- Consider your accommodation requirements/needs/wants
- If shipping own furniture consider the size - to fit into new home:
- All EER assistance forms should be complete
- Advise your mortgage lender and insurers of your move
- Arrange storage for valuable possessions
- Make an inventory of home contents and take photos
- Make sure items are insured while shipping
- Ensure electrical goods are compliant with UAE systems
- Attest documents: (where applicable)
- Educational certificates
- Marriage certificate
- Birth certificates
- Copies of your childrens reports
- 0rganise and keep together all important documents
- Update your drivers licenses
- Begin familiarising your family with the UAE
- Decide whether to sell your vehicle(s) or store them
- If the pets are travelling ensure their vaccinations are up to date
- Go to UAE embassy to get all documents attested
- Update all insurance policies - medical, vehicle and home
- Provide forwarding addresses to all concerned
- Get medical check ups and bring reports to UAE for new GP (advisable but not mandatory)
