Banking & Finance

  • Choose your bank carefully, an introducing reference letter from your existing bank will help.
  • Your employer may also have strong contacts with a local bank and can effect an introduction.
  • Don't cancel your overseas credit cards until you are fully established in Dubai, as it may be difficult to obtain a reasonable credit limit initially.
  • Set up with internet banking in both your home country and with your new bank in Dubai.
  • Monitor your UAE account regularly to ensure all the transactions can be accounted for..
  • Our partner HSBC Middle East recommends to have 6 months statements at hand to open your bank account. These will need to be kept separate from your belongings being shipped to Dubai. You will be unable to open a bank account without them.
  • For expats, remember some international banks such as our partners HSBC Middle East offer specific expat services such as multi currency accounts and international online remittance.
