There is an exceptionally high standard of education in Dubai with many schools exceeding the expected standard for that year group.
Various national curriculum syllabuses are practiced in Dubai – British, American, and International Baccalaureate.
Schools fall into 2 categories for the new expatriate, local and private international. School fees in Dubai are expensive ranging from 10,000AED to 25,000AED per term for both local and international primary schools. However, many employment contracts will include payment of these fees.
Schools generally house classes of no more than 25 children, they are well staffed and offer excellent facilities. All schools offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities with great emphasis on sport. Most international schools are mixed with boys and girls.
Many primary schools are in the process of providing the facilities for secondary schools, this will enhances the continuity of education but equally as important carry on the ethos and good reputation which many Dubai primary schools have earned down through the years.
From an early age all kids are introduced to the Arabic language and Arabic culture as part of the school curriculum, these are also offered as an extra curricular class for those kids wishing to further increase their knowledge.
