Dubai boasts a growing number of internationally accredited Colleges and Universities offering courses in the arts, sciences, business and engineering sectors.
Many students opt to leave Dubai at this point and undertake studies abroad some may subsequently return to Dubai to undertake a post- graduate programme. University places in Dubai are mainly filled by locals, Gulf Nationals or those already working here who wish to undertake a post- graduate course as a mature student.
Universities and Colleges are based mainly in Academic City on the outskirts of Dubai and in Knowledge Village near Media City.
Several language schools exist in Dubai, offering courses in Arabic, French, German and others, these schools run courses for beginners through to an advanced level. There is an opportunity to study English (if it is not your first language) and also to teach English as a foreign language. All these courses are internationally accredited.
